Terror Alert Level

Saturday, March 27, 2004

If you didn't already know, I'm now in Montana. At this current moment I am in Cut Bank typing to my heart's content. Today was an extremely long day.

Because the weather in the Bozeman area was bad yesterday, my trip to Cut Bank was delayed until this morning. My dad and I left about 9 am from Belgrade. He was hauling a haybine and I was driving behind him in his pickup. So the driving was really slow. We were only able to drive about 40 mph. I'm surprised I didn't fall asleep.

Anyway, because the road between Three Forks and Helena is narrow we went to Butte and up to Helena on the interstate. Shortly past Boulder. I noticed the left tire on the haybine was wobbling really bad. After determining that I wasn't losing my mind I called my dad and told him to pull off the road to see what was up.

To our surprise the hub holding the tire on was busted and the bearings were in poor shape as well. We were fortunate to discover the problem before the wheel flew off. The bad news was we had to go back to Belgrade to get a new hub and all the accessories. It took about an hour to get back to Belgrade and an hour in Belgrade to get the hub and stuff situated. After this we drove for another hour where we ran into rain.

We were lucky enough that by the time we arrived at the haybine the rain passed by. The wheel went back on the haybine smoothly and we were off. At this time it was about 4:30. At about 7, we arrived in Ulm and we were able to drop off the haybine. We went into Great Falls and got some dinner. After that we were able to head home and I arrived here about 9:30.

So that was today and I never thought it was going to end, but it did. Well I'm tired and should go to bed soon. Talk to ya'll later
